Spotlight: Caos Creates Art

Caos Creates Art is a clothing/design brand born from my love of art, fashion, design, music, and creativity. The products I create are heavily inspired by the environment I am surrounded by. As a young Chicago artist and designer, I try to incorporate my culture into the art and clothes I make. Every single garment is designed, screen printed, sewed, and hand painted by me. I view fashion design as a craft and an art form, making each garment more like an individual artwork than as a mass produced product from a company.

I don't label any of the clothes I make by gender, I believe clothes are a major way humans express themselves, and I believe the human mind and its intricacies are way to complicated to be labeled by a societal-based construct. I believe labeling clothes by gender limits the possibilities of creativity and innovation in fashion design. My clothing brand us rooted in street art and hip hop culture where breaking the rules and being original and creative are some of the most important things; it separates you from all other artists. I don't agree with letting labeled control what you wear, I believe anyone should wear whatever they like and however they like. I hope the fashion industry stops limiting creativity and innovation in design with gender labeled, and I also hope people do not let gender labels limit the way they express themselves with the clothes they wear.
